There are ongoing celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Barka Foundation. On this occasion there was prepared thrilling spectacle – the staging of the story “The Seagull” by Richard Bach, directed by Sylwester Woroniecki, the Polish Theater actor. “The Seagull” is a literary metaphor showing how important in the life of every man is free will, rejection of embarrassing prohibitions and injunctions, and what is the power of love and kindness. The title seagull, Jonathan is trying to stand out above the limitations of his own community and despite the belief that a seagull cannot fly high – wants to do this. There are many people in such a situation – both those who overcame addiction, homelessness, all forms of exclusion, as well as people living in their natural communities – want something more, want to change and transform standards which were limiting them so far. The actors in this production are members of numerous educational and activating programs conducted by the Barka Foundation and cooperating organizations, the Center for the Homeless No. 1 in Poznan as well as leaders, employees and co-workers of Barka. The show took place on Tuesday, 11 of November at concert hall Poznan Music School in Poland.
