Social Economy Centre
Barka UK opens an innovative Social Economy Centre in London. The Centre will support the citizens of the Central and Eastern European countries who face difficulties in obtaining and maintaining work.
We are searching for people with a university degree and at least two-year experience in rehabilitation and addictions: a psychologist, a therapist, a lawyer, a professional advisor and an advisor for business development.
The psychologist will provide advice and assistance in solving problems and psychological crises, work on strengthening the motivation and assertiveness, assist with the creation of support groups, work closely with the professional advisor and the therapist to agree on career paths of the Social Economy Centre’s clients.
The professional advisor will make diagnosis of the clients’ social and professional potential, cooperate with employment agencies, businesses (including social enterprises) in order to develop a professional practice/ employment and offer guidance on all matters of employment nature.
The advisor on business development will gather information on companies and local businesses (including social enterprises), present available job offers, visit employers with the aim to prepare a timetable/ apprenticeship contracts and monitor the situation in the local labour market. He/she will also build a relationship between an employer and a member of the Social Economy Centre, help to create business plans and encourage the clients to set up their own companies.
The therapist will work on one-to-one basis and in a group towards rehabilitation and sobriety, cooperate with institutions offering detox, therapy and rehabilitation, create support groups, AA and NA.
The lawyer will work on one-to-one basis and in a group, provide assistance to solve legal issues primarily in relation employer employee (including interventions) and focus on legal aspects of family matters. The role will involve cooperation with the courts, London Probation and detention centres. The lawyer will also offer legal aid within the housing and entrepreneurial area (including interventions).
