Polish Women Congress
Ewa Sadowska of Barka UK spoke at the 1-st Polish Women Congress in Great Britain taking place on the 20th and 21st of April 2013.
The conference was organised by the United Kingdom of Polish Women in the UK
(www.krolestwopolek.eu).
The aim of the initiative was to bring together Polish women from various backgrounds to discuss issues and share ideas, as well as recognise the positive difference they make in the British society. Conference aimed at exploring the barriers Polish women can face before they realise their full potential.
The programme involved:
– Saturday: informal panel discussions on themes like ‘Polish Woman in (UK) business’, ‘Polish Woman in (UK) arts’, ‘Women’s rights’ etc. Guests with an established careers or expertise in these areas have been invited to join the panels.
– Saturday evening: an official ‘Polish Woman of the Year’ ceremony and a reception hosted by the Polish Ambassador
– Sunday: a programme of workshops on women’s health, social rights and personal development.
