Conference :’Migration and Homelessness – New Challenges, Old Dilemmas’- 25th of October 2010
On the 25th of October 2010 representatives of Barka UK will be attending conference: ‘Migration and Homelessness – New Challenges, Old Dilemmas’. Roehampton University of London will present a ground-breaking study conducted by the Centre for Research on Nationalism, Ethnicity and Multiculturalism (CRONEM). The event will be attended by Local Government service providers, charities, academics, health professionals, NGO’s and others having more in depth knowledge of the reasons, dynamics and future developments of homelessness among Eastern Europeans in UK.
The CRONEM study explores the issues surrounding new migrants from Eastern Europe more in-depth from the perspective of social anthropology whilst at the same time providing insights into best practice for treatments for alcohol misuse among ethnic groups, prevention and abstinence, social re-integration, crime prevention and the social economic impact.
