BARKA’s visit to Dublin
On 7 – 9 November a delegation from Barka UK ( Andrzej Sydoruk and Ewa Sadowska ) and Barka Foundation Poland ( Dagmara Szlandrowicz) took part in a study visit to Dublin.
The visit was organised by The Mendicity Institution, an organisation which has been running homelessness support services for 200 years in the center of Dublin.
The programme of the visit included participation in night soup runs, visits to hostels and drop-in centers, visiting Sisters of Charity, The Trust (a small hospital for the homeless people) as well as meetings with the Dublin City Council and the Board of Trustees of the Mendicity Institution.
Dublin City Council and Mendicity Institution are interested to support Barka project helping most vulnerable migrants in Dublin. The project is planned to start this year.
Report from Barka visit to Dublin including the findings and recommendations will be available soon.
