Barka UK at Brussels seminar on migration & cohesion
On 17th of November Barka UK representatives will deliver a presentation at a seminar on migration & social cohesion organised by the Office of the Wielkopolska Region in Brussels.
The seminar will showcase how managing the social consequence of migration should be one of the core priorities of the Cohesion policy.
The key speakers will include Professor Danuta Hübner, Chairwoman of the Committee on Regional Development in the European Parliament.
The seminar is organised on the occasion of St. Martin’s Day which is celebrated in a special way in the City of Poznan, the capital of Wielkopolska Region in Poland. As the legend says: in the year 338 in the town of Amiens in Gaul, St. Martin (a roman soldier) met a half-naked beggar and gave him part of his coat. St Martin is a symbol of Wielkopolska many-year tradition of supporting the poor and those in least privileged situations.
