Barka Uk and St Mungos staff visited Cristian Charity Project “Remar UK” in Nottingham
On Sunday the 21st of August representatives of Barka UK and St Mungos visited “Remar UK” – a Christian charity project in Nottingham. Remar’s staff and beneficiaries explained the history of the charity, shared stories of their involvement with the organisation and explained the process of admission of new guests. The visit began a new partnership between the organisations involved.
Remar keeps its door open for all those who want to stay here, change their lives and remain sober. Remar is an abbreviation of a Spanish phrase which means “Rehabilitation of people on the margin of society”. Remar also means “to row”. Remar therefore can be seen as a team of oarsmen all in the same boat rowing out against all the cruel currents of the world.
Remar’s commitment is to provide an integral and practical support to combat the effects of growing poverty and addiction amongst the vulnerable sector of socially excluded people in the UK
