Barka meets with President of the European Parliament
On January 27th 2010 there have been commemorations in Poland on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp attended by representatives of Governments, Parliaments, European organisations and MEPs. At the event President of the European Parliament, Professor Jerzy Buzek announced a declaration in which he invites the previous Presidents of European Parliament and representatives of citizensâ organisations and movements to join him in the setting up the Pro Publico Bono Forum Europeans Solidarity for Human Rights.
Leaders of European organisations, including Barka UK and Barka Foundation in Poznan, prepared a letter of support to the President’s initiative (attached). The letter was presented to Mr President on the 7th of March in Poznan, Poland.
